Five years later, DockYard’s bet on remote work continues to provide employees with the flexibility they need to thrive

DockYard was recently recognized by The Startup Weekly as an Exceptional Place to Work in 2021. The Startup Weekly presented the Exceptional Workplace award to companies that have demonstrated a commitment to employee satisfaction and engagement.

DockYard is a fully-remote digital product consultancy specializing in the design and development of custom web apps. The company’s cross-disciplinary digital product teams pair design thinking with expertise in web technologies to advance products from idea to impact.

This year’s awards attracted a record number of applications across company stages in the United States. The winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of top executives, founders, investors, and industry experts. The companies were evaluated based on a combination of employee survey results, online and offline reviews, and industry recognition.

“While many companies are just starting to realize the benefits of remote work, we shifted to a virtual workplace in 2016 to enable recruitment of brilliant talent and to provide our people with greater flexibility,” said Sarah Woods, Chief People Officer at DockYard. “Being recognized as a 2021 Exceptional Workplace Award recipient further validates our belief that giving employees freedom helps them feel supported in getting focused, imaginative work done from wherever they are most productive.”

“This year’s award recipients have gone above and beyond to drive workplace satisfaction and excellence. The judging panel was thoroughly impressed with all the awardees,” said Peter Justin, Managing Editor of The Startup Weekly.
