Elixir is the tool to help you launch faster with a product that’s stable and scalable. Book a free consult today to learn how we can put it to work for you.
The Elixir community is gearing up for ElixirConf US 2024 and DockYard’s team members are once again leading trainings and talks on some of Elixir’s biggest topics, from native mobile development to machine learning.
This year, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to build cross-platform applications using LiveView Native and explore parsing and manipulation of HEEx templates with Beacon CMS. Our team members will also dive into the latest typing and templating patterns introduced to LiveView Native and explore what’s possible with the latest iteration of Numerical Elixir (Nx).
Unlock the Power of LiveView Native: Build Cross-Platform Applications with Ease
During this in-person workshop, DockYard founder and CEO Brian Cardarella and Elixir Educator Brooklin Myers will walk attendees through creating cross-platform experiences with Elixir for web and mobile applications.
Attendees will have the chance to dive into some of LiveView Native’s key benefits for native mobile development from real-time interactivity and instant updates to the power of a single codebase to streamline web and mobile development.
This workshop is appropriate for both experienced and new Elixir developers, and one workshop attendee will receive a free in-person ElixirConf 2024 ticket, courtesy of DockYard. If you already have a ticket, you will receive a reimbursement for the cost. To catch up on LiveView Native, watch the Montreal Elixir workshop led by Brooklin Myers and the 2023 ElixirConf US Keynote by Brian Cardarella.
The workshop is scheduled for August 27, timing and location information to come.
Building a HEEx visual editor
Following up on his ElixirConf 2023 presentation, Senior Software Engineer Leandro Pereira will dive into the two views available to manage content in Beacon CMS: a code editor with access to the raw HEEx template and a visual editor for non-technical users.
Beacon is an Elixir-based CMS designed to give engineers an option to stay entirely within the Elixir ecosystem while building their application, eliminating the need to integrate a non-Elixir CMS. To add to its functionality for non-technical users, DockYard is also developing a visual page editor element. The page editor will understand HEEx and allow users to drag and drop Phoenix components into the template.
During this workshop, attendees will learn how we approached parsing and manipulating HEEx templates, Tailwind integration in the browser environment, and will have the chance to see a demo using the DockYard website.
This talk is appropriate for beginner and intermediate developers.
This workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 30 at 8:30 a.m. in the Canaveral room.
Getting Nx to the edge with LiveView Native and Nerves
During this talk by Senior Software Engineer Paulo Valente, learn how the latest changes to Nx in v0.7 allow you to run code directly on mobile and embedded devices with LiveView Native and Nerves.
Valente will dive into some of the technical details of Nx before examining how to use the new features in v0.7 to run code directly on mobile devices. This talk is appropriate for advanced developers.
This workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28 at 10:40 a.m. in the Biscayne room
LiveView Native is Ready!
Following the recent release of version 0.3, LiveView Native is now being recommended to build your native applications with Elixir.
During this talk by DockYard founder and CEO Brian Cardarella, learn more about LiveView Native, our design philosophy in building it, and see examples of native Elixir applications.
This presentation is appropriate for developers of all skill level.
This workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 30 at 9:10 a.m. in the Canaveral room.
